Plastic scrap can be defined as simply any form of plastic which is considered waste. Nearly all plastic scrap can be recycled. Plastic scrap comes in many various forms. Some of the most common forms of plastic scrap are HDPE scrap, LDPE scrap, PET scrap, PP Scrap, PS Scrap and PVC Scrap. Here are some details about these common forms of plastic scrap.
HDPE scrap, HDPE as a plastic scrap is used to make, for example, bottles for milk, juice, water, and laundry products. As a plastic scrap it has several good barrier properties, in that, it has excellent toughness, excellent chemical resistance, easy processing and a low price. Once the HDPE plastic scrap has been recycled it can be used in a number of commodities, for example, bottles, caps, packaging, film and bags.
LDPE scrap, LDPE as a plastic scrap is mainly used in film applications due to its flexibility, toughness and relative transparency; it also has a low melting point and this makes it popular in applications of heat sealing. The most common use for LDPE plastic scrap is in the manufacture of common grocery plastic bags or in other forms of plastic scrap bags. LDPE plastic scrap is also used in the manufacturing of plastic bottles.
